Had to build up confidence for this one!!

We recently had a customer ask us to make a significant change to the front end of his newly purchased Merchant Navy locomotive.

It meant taking a hacksaw and chopping off part of the front in order to replace with an etched brass kit of smoke deflectors and smoke cowl from RT Models.

It took three attempts to build up the confidence to make the first cut.

New etched brass nameplates and smoke box rings from Fox Transfers were then added and lightly weathered.
